Accessible documents checklist
Twelve checks to run on any document before it is published — headings, alt text, colour contrast, tables and reading order — with the keyboard shortcut for each.

Overview
The checklist exists because accessibility review kept happening at the end, when the only options were to publish something inaccessible or to miss the deadline. Twelve checks take about ten minutes on a normal document, and eleven of them are things the author can fix themselves.
Details
The checks are ordered by how expensive they are to fix late. Real heading styles come first, because retrofitting structure into a document formatted with bold text means rebuilding it. Colour contrast and alt text come last, because they can be fixed in place at any point.
Each item names the specific menu or keyboard shortcut in the two editors most people here use, so the checklist can be followed without knowing the vocabulary first.
